Apocynaceae
A family of trees, shrubs and twining climbers, mainly from tropical and sub-tropical regions. The family world-wide consists of some 180 genera and 1500 species [FNSW]. Although some species have medicinal uses those at Camden Park were grown for their ornamental value. A number of varieties of Nerium oleander are well established in the gardens and Vinca major is naturalised in shrubberies.
