Fuchsia Kyle‘s ‘Triumphans’
Kyle’s ‘Triumphans’ was offered for sale by Smith’s of Hackney in The Gardener’s Chronicle, p.314, 1843, in the same advertisement as ‘Transparens’ and ‘Dalstonii’ [GC p.314/1843]. No description was given.

History at Camden Park
Listed in the 1850 and 1857 catalogues [T.499/1850]. Smith’s 'Transparens' and ‘Dalstonii’ were also offered in the Gardener’s Chronicle advertisement. All three fuchsias first appear in the 1850 catalogue and it seems likely that they were introduced at the same time, possibly in response to this advertisement.
Notes
A fuchsia called ‘Triumphant’ is still available, at least in the USA. It is described as having double violet corolla with sepals of red. [www.backyardgardener.com]. I don’t know if this is the Victorian cultivar or a more modern plant.
