History at Camden Park
William Macarthur’s notebook no.4, [MP vol. 52], contains descriptions of 6 hybrid passifloras, unnamed. These possibly represent some of the named hybrids, including ‘Camdeni’, that subsequently appeared in the 1857 catalogue [T.719/1857]. The normal type generic name and italicised specific name of ‘Passiflora Camdeni’ as printed in the 1850 and 1857 catalogues is strongly indicative of a Camden Park hybrid.
