Notice

Colin Mills, compiler of the Hortus Camdenensis, died in late November 2012 after a short illness. As he always considered the Hortus his legacy, it is his family's intention to keep the site running in perpetuity. It will not, however, be updated in the near future.

History at Camden Park

This is probably the hybrid no.1, Passiflora floribunda fertilised by P. kermisina, sent to Loddiges’ nursery on 1st February, 1849 [MP A2933-1, p.185].  Macarthur said of nos. 1, 10 and 12 [they] ‘are also very pretty but differ too little from kermesina’.
