Notice

Colin Mills, compiler of the Hortus Camdenensis, died in late November 2012 after a short illness. As he always considered the Hortus his legacy, it is his family's intention to keep the site running in perpetuity. It will not, however, be updated in the near future.

History at Camden Park

Listed among fuchsias grown at Camden in a letter to J. Abbott of Hobart on 16th June 1846.  [MP A2908, p.159].

Notes

A fuchsia called ‘Foribunda’ is still available, at least in the USA.  It is described as having single bluish-violet corolla with sepals of cerise.  [www.backyardgardener.com].  I don’t know if this is the Victorian cultivar or a more modern plant.
