Introduced to Britain in 1800 from South America. [JD].
History at Camden Park
Listed in the 1850 and 1857 catalogues [T.429/1850]. Erythrina laurifolia was specifically requested of Loddiges’ Nursery on 1st February, 1849 [MP A2933-1, p.185] and obtained from them, brought out from England by Captain P. P. King. [ML A1980-3]. It appears to have been previously obtained from George Stevenson of Adelaide in 1844 but probably died. [ML A2933-1, p.20].
