Colin Mills, compiler of the Hortus Camdenensis, died in late November 2012 after a short illness. As he always considered the Hortus his legacy, it is his family's intention to keep the site running in perpetuity. It will not, however, be updated in the near future.


A family of some 18 genera and 150 species of shrubs and trees from tropical and temperate regions, particularly from the Northern Hemisphere.  [FNSW].  A few species are of some economic importance for their timber.  Represented in the Hortus by 6 species of oenamental tree.
