Introduced to Britain in 1759.  [JD].  Jacq. IPR pl.35/1791-1793.

History at Camden Park

Listed in the 1857 catalogue as Ipomoea lutea [T.579/1857].  This plant may be Ipomoea brownii Roem. & Schult., which see. Ipomoea brownii is perhaps a more likely identification.

Notes

Ipomoea lutea Hemsl. (1879) from Mexico, is not Macarthur’s plant.
