Colin Mills, compiler of the Hortus Camdenensis, died in late November 2012 after a short illness. As he always considered the Hortus his legacy, it is his family's intention to keep the site running in perpetuity. It will not, however, be updated in the near future.

A family of 7-12 genera and up to 225 species, depending on the classification system.  Shrubs and trees widely spread in sub-tropical and temperate regions from Asia to the Pacific Islands and the Americas.  Represented in the Hortus by a number of ornamental species of Magnolia in particular.
