Cyperaceae
A family of some 90 genera and and 3500 species of perennial or annual grass-like herbs, mostly from damp or swampy places. [FNSW]. Represented in the Hortus by a single species, the Papyrus. A number of species have been important in the past for constructing boats, making mats etc.
