Verbascum boerhavi L.

Half hardy biennial with elliptic basal leaves, to 30cm, and tall spikes of yellow flowers in summer.  [RHSD, Hortus].

Horticultural & Botanical History

Introduced to Britain in 1731.  [JD].  Don considered it a doubtful species, ‘perhaps a hybrid between V. phlomoides and some allied species.’
