Sinningia speciosa ‘Godefroi de Bouillon’

A cultivar of Sinningia speciosa (Lodd.) Hiern. The Floricultural Cabinet described it as a fine blue [FC p.135/1853].

It was earlier offered for sale in the pages of The Gardeners' Chronicle by Bass & Brown of Sudbury [GC p.432/1851].

Listed only in an appendix to the 1857 catalogue [A.58/1857].

Notes

Godfrey of Bouillon was a medieval French knight from Brabant, now part of Belgium.  He was one of the leaders of the First Crusade from 1096 until his death in 1100.
