Hydrangeaceae

A family of some 17 genera and 250 species of herbs, sub-shrubs and shrubs with some climbers, mainly from Asia and the Americas.  Some botanists place 7 of the genera in a separate family, Philadelphaceae, but they are combined here.  Represented in the Hortus by a number of ornamental shrubs.
