Hippocastanaceae
A family of 3 genera and some 25 species of deciduous trees and shrubs from temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. [RHSD]. One species, the Sweet Chestnut, is of some economic importance. Represented in the Hortus by 2 ornamental trees.
