Notice

Colin Mills, compiler of the Hortus Camdenensis, died in late November 2012 after a short illness. As he always considered the Hortus his legacy, it is his family's intention to keep the site running in perpetuity. It will not, however, be updated in the near future.

Aizoaceae

A family of some 140 genera and 2300 species of usually succulent annual and perennial herbs and shrubs, chiefly from Africa, but also found in America and Australia.  [FNSW].  Represented in the Hortus by a number of ornamentals from south Africa.  But the family also contains the rare Australian genus Macarthuria, named for Sir William Macarthur.
